You Can Do! Abs - Featuring the Stability Ball - A Simplified Approach
Fitness walking guru Leslie Sansone returns with a series introducing viewers to the basics of the newest fitness and wellness trends. Each program offers quick, simple instructions and step-by-step workouts. Sansone uses a "progressive practice" method that allows viewers to build on introductory moves as they work their way to overall fitness. This program focuses on the upper body and abdominals. All exercises require the use of a stability ball and are designed to be practiced two to three times per week. Sansone teaches the basics of the stability ball, then introduces a core workout section that firms the abdominals and back, as well as an upper-body section that strengthens the arms, chest, and shoulders. ~ Sarah Block, All Movie Guide

Sometimes you want an exercise DVD that focuses only on your abs. This is one of those and it's good, but very easy and not for advanced exercisers. It's really more of an introduction to using a stability ball for building up your core. She gives you a lot of instruction first, so you don't feel totally out of sync on the ball and you'll feel comfortable on it. Then there is the 20 minute workout. During that, there is an optional final part that uses dumbbells for arm exercises and upper body work (there are advanced options within that too). All you need is weights and the ball and a lot of balance, but using a ball is really enjoyable because you can feel your abs tightening the whole way through. I really like Leslie. She's experienced and pleasant to listen to and also encouraging. This is a great workout but definitely for beginners and way too easy for advanced people. This is a good starting point if you haven't used a ball before.
