Karen Russell is the founder and creator of Yoga Groove. Her career in movement began at
an early age at a local dance studio in Erie, PA where she worked as an assistant dance
teacher. By the time Karen was 21 she was working professionally all over the world as a
dancer and back-up singer with such artists as Bette Midler and Madonna.
Karen was first introduced to Hatha yoga in a Manhattan health club in the early 1990’s.
Several years later a dance injury reacquainted her with yoga and she fell in love. Yoga
has healed her physical injuries and the mind, body, spirit aspect of yoga has changed
Karen’s life. In the year 2000 she started teaching yoga and studying a variety of yoga
styles.
