When I saw that there were 17 exercises on this video, "Intermediate Centerwork on Jumps", I pictured a totally exhausting petit allegro program that I'd never complete in 2, 3 or even 4 sessions. However, the exercises also concentrate on well-executed connecting steps so that you place yourself correctly for accomplishing the jumps. The exercises increase in difficulty very gradually so that you do not become overwhelmed. As an advanced beginner it did take me 2, good sessions to complete this program. I believe an intermediate student could practice the entire video straight through without overstressing her body. Although I thought of the exercises as fast, the demonstrator's only problem was that she had to slow herself down from the speed with which she usually performed such steps!
With all Finis Jhung videos, you may want to keep the rental long enough to do at least one or two more go-arounds so as to take full advantage of epaulement and eye focus practice (and watch yourself in the mirror if you are lucky enough to have one). The first time through you are concentrating on watching the demonstrator and listening to Mr. Jhung's comments.
This program will keep you working for an especially long time because the choreography has many changes of direction and is very "busy". Mr. Jhung points out that you should not think of the combination as a series of individual, stand-alone steps but as one long step. Indeed, there isn't time to pause between steps to think. You must know where your body is in the process of going for the following one. It needs to flow and, of course, flow into the jumps without pause or loss of energy.
