This review is from: Jillian Michaels Extreme Shed & Shred (DVD)
I was one of the people who was given an advanced copy so I could post a review. Extreme Shed And Shred consists of two 45 minute workouts. They get progressively harder. Level 1 is easier than level 2, however level 1 is no joke. As in all Jillian's workout DVD's there are modifications for the beginner and the more advanced exerciser. These workouts are different than her other titles for several reasons. First, they are longer. And not only does Jillian ask you to do 45 minutes, she asks you to consider doing level 1 and level 2 back to back - which thankfully you don't have to do. The idea behind this dvd is to lose a lot of weight fast - hence the title "EXTREME" shed and shred. Luckily you do not need to do that to see results though. The exercises are blends of many different fitness modalities. She has some kick boxing, some yoga, some bootcamp body weight stuff, some calisthenics, some Brazilian Jujitsu. All and all I found the blend of fitness styles really fun and different. I was dripping sweat 10 minutes into the first level. According to my heart rate monitor I burned 15 calories a minute doing this. Not sure how completely accurate it was, but over the course of the workout I burned 675 calories. I really like this workout and I think it's a great addition to Jillian's DVD library.
