Famed teacher Anna Paskevska describes each movement, her students demonstrate paying particular attention to ease in the upper torso. They begin with barre work and progress to center combinations. Intermediate/Advanced Pointe Class concludes with coaching and full performances of Aurora’s variation from Act III of Sleeping Beauty and Swanhilda’s Variation from Act III of Coppelia.
A complete program with word descriptions of barre and center combinations is included with this DVD.
Anna Paskevska was born in Russia and studied in Paris and in London at the Royal Ballet. She currently teaches at Columbia College and is chair of the dance department at Chicago Academy of the Arts. Paskevska is the author of Both Sides of the Mirror and Ballet: From the First Plie to Mastery.
